The launch of Azad Jammu and Kashmir University of Bhimber (AJ&KUoB) marks a noteworthy breakthrough in the educational landscape of the region. Established on December 15, 2023, following the approval of the university act by the state assembly of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Pakistan.

Under the AJ&KUoB Act 2023, the former Bhimber campus of Mirpur University of Science and Technology upgrade into the Azad Jammu and Kashmir University of Bhimber. This transition was driven by the commitment to address the educational needs of Bhimber and its surrounding areas, fostering a culture of quality higher education, research, and community engagement.

At present, the university have the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences and six distinct departments. Offering a various undergraduate programs including DVM, BS Animal Sciences, LAD, BS Botany, BS Economics, BS English, and BS HRM, AJ&KUoB is dedicated to equipping its students with the knowledge and skills.

Furthermore, the university is actively pursuing the launching of the new dynamic programs, particularly in the domain of technical education, information technology, and human health.
